Centre Hills Golf Course is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Aurora, Colorado.
Centre Hills Golf Course first opened for play in 1989. The course was designed by Dick Phelps.
Centre Hills is a par 3 course mesuring 1,305 yards from the back tees. This course can be difficult for beginning golfers, but is an excellent learning facility. All nine holes have water hazards to avoid
The course closed operations in 2013.
The course, located off South Buckley Road and East Alameda Parkway, had been operating under a deficit for several years. The nine-hole course is falling victim to a poor economy, increasing competition and the declining popularity of the sport, among other things. The cost of water was also a major factor. Due to regulatory requirements, the city could no longer irrigate the course with reuse water.
The city's alternatives, renovate the pond to hold reuse water at a cost of approximately $400,000 or use potable water, both of which were not economically feasible.
Centre Hills Golf Course was given as a gift to the city by the Aurora Centre Tech Metropolitan District, according to city documents.
Since 2009, the course had been operating at a deficit. In 2011, the course brought in $203,858 in revenues but cost $256,096 to operate. 2012 was worse.

For $8, who can complain? This is a great place to PRACTICE your short game. It's close to the same price you would pay for the better driving ranges in town.
